Merry Christmas!!!

Photobucket
I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Hobo did too, but he couldn't sit still long enough by the tree to get such an adorable picture like mine. You know he is such a rowdy boy!

It's a bug...

O.k. so "it" really isn't a bug. "It" is Hobo. While there are times that I really enjoy having him around there are those when he just will not quit bugging me. Case in point...tanning.

If you will remember I love to tan. When tanning you are supposed to relax and just be one with the sun. Hobo has no concept of relaxing in the sun while the rays of sunshine beat down on him.

No, he thinks that when we are outside that it is time to bounce around and play tag. While I do enjoy a good game of tag, this particular day, I was really wanting to just tan. Soak up some rays and just enjoy the sun.

Unfortunately Hobo had other ideas, and after finally getting aggrivated by him, I decided it wasn't worth it and got up and went in. I hope that he matures with age, because if not we are going to have a serious issue when it comes to tanning. I mean after all, it is my most favorite past time.

I'm a Rhinestone Cowboy...

O.k., maybe I don't have any rhinestones, but I do have this totally nifty cowboy hat. I have actually had it for several years, but have never sat still long enough to wear it. I guess I had a weak moment, because not only did mom get it on me, she was able to get the camera and take a picture. I do have to admit, I give new meaning to being a ruff and rugged cowboy!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Seriously though, can't we get thru Thanksgiving first?

I am the kind of pup who wants to enjoy each and every holiday and it aggrivates me when they kind of start cheating one. For some reason, they seem to cheat Thanksgiving. It is by far one of my favorite holidays because of all of the food.

This year though for some reason, everyone has gone from Halloween decorations straight to Christmas decorations. What about Thanksgiving? I know they have cool turkey decorations somewhere. Doesn't everyone enjoy a holiday where you don't have to go to work and can sit around eating all day long and nap with your favorite humans?

I love Thanksgiving. I love having the kids sneak me all of that delicious food while my dad makes me a plate. Do me a favor, stop and enjoy Thanksgiving this year. You might come to see it is truly an awesome holiday!

Evacuation Proclamation

I am sure most of you know we had to evacuate for Hurricane Ike. While the drive to my grandparents was a little overwhelming (seriously, you try riding in a small car with 3 kids), we made it safe and sound. The good news was that it only took us 5 hours this time rather than the 32 it took when we thought Rita was going to come visit. I can honestly say mom and dad learned a lot from our first evacuation...don't take Hwy 45!

We stayed gone about a week, but you will be glad to know that there was no damage to any of my blankets, toys, or bones. Everything was found right where I left it, with the exception of the things that Hobo took it upon himself to move.

While I am glad to be back home, I do have to admit that I miss chasing the geese with Hobo. We had a blast getting to do that daily.

There is really and truly no place like home!

Hot Dog...buns

Just a word to the wise, it is NOT a smart thing to eat half a package of hot dog buns when you are less than a foot tall and weigh only 12 pounds.

MINE!!!

Hobo just does not understand that most things in the house are MINE.

As usual he has decided to take it upon himself to start playing with MY stuff. Sometimes I have to show him who is boss and go and reclaim what is rightfully mine. Luckily I still outweigh the fur ball by about 2 pounds and can toss him around like a rag doll to get my stuff back. Plus I am waaaaay stronger.

I am getting a little nervous though, because he is growing by leaps and bounds. Before long he will be bigger than me, and that worries me a little. I don't know how I am going to get my stuff back when he gets bigger than me. Oh well...for the time being I have reclaimed my stuff and plan on putting it on the couch because he still hasn't figured out how to jump up there.

Oh, how I love to tan!

Yep, I like to spend at least a good 30 minutes outside when the weather permits laying out in the pretty lush grass tanning. It does sooo much for the soul and is a good relaxing technique.

Oh no they didn't...

I am beside myself with confusion. I distinctly remember my mom saying that Hobo would be kennel trained. I KNOW she said it. I heard her. She even went out and bought a pretty new kennel for him. Heck we even spent several nights having to listen to him whine only to have dad give into his crying and let him out.

I thought we had a good arrangement, he slept on the floor on the pillow and blanket that mom found for him, and I had my spot in the middle of the bed.

Imagine my surprise when I hop into bed Friday night only to find that little fur ball there. In MY bed, okay, well maybe it is mom and dad's bed, but I am always sleeping in it.
I just don't know what I am going to do. First he is always trying to eat my food, then he is always finding my bones that I spend many hours hiding, and I have even put up with the occasional lap time he gets with the parents...but this is just unacceptable.

I am not adjusting well to having a little brother at all.

Oh, brother!

Yep, you read that right, oh brother! I don’t know what my momma and daddy was thinking when they went out and got me a new brother. I mean seriously, am I not totally cute and lovable? Why did they think they needed another little boy?

He is soooo annoying! He tries to steal my bones constantly and I end up having to hide them. The good thing is that momma is too busy to fold laundry so that provides me plenty of hiding spots in the clothes sitting on the couch. Oh, and since my brother, which they named Hobo, is such a runt he can’t jump up there to find them. Hahahaha

Also, what a PIG! He practically inhales his food and then comes over and tries to help himself to mine. Luckily, I pack a mean bark and have let him know that he is not allowed to have even a crumb. He seems to forget frequently and I always have to remind him that it is MY food.

Oh and before I go, I have a funny story…When I steal Hobo’s bones we play chase around the house. Since it was my house first I know where all the furniture is at and how to glide smoothly around things when he is pursuing me. Last night he was running and didn’t make the turn and ran into daddy’s chair. It was hilarious!

Well I better get going, before he finds me on here and decides he has something he wants to say…

Guests...

Well, we have been playing host the last few weeks to relatives who decided to come and visit.

First was my dad's brother. I wasn't too sure about him, since I have only met him one time previously. So I constantly monitored his movement and let him know that I was the boss. I got snippy with him a couple of times, and mom and dad both got on to me for being rude. I will give him credit, he did try to bribe me with food and beverage so I may not be quite as harsh on him when he comes back to visit in a few months.

This past week my granny came. She is totally awesome. She always brings me some type of cool treats! I got super excited when I saw her walk through the door. When she sat down, I went and gave her all types of hugs and kisses. I don't think she was quite as excited when we went to bed though. I made my normal rounds checking on mom and dad, as well as my brother's making sure they were all tucked in. When I made it into sister's room where granny was, I got carried away with excitement again, and jumped into the bed. Due to my excitement, I accidentally jumped on her head a couple of times, which she did not like too well. Needless to say, I was banned from the room for the rest of her visit, but that is o.k. because she bought me some more goodies to make up for locking me out of one of my favorite napping areas. I was sad to see her go, but am glad to have free reign over my palace again.

It is nice to have guests, but then at the same time it is nice when they leave and life can go back to normal.

Introduction

Hi guys! My name is Peanut. I am a full blooded chihuahua who lives in the Houston area. My mom and dad adopted me from a place called Canton. I remember that day like no other. My mom kept telling dad that they didn't need a dog, but luckily he did not listen.

Dad just ignored her complaints and came over to visit and play with me and my 4 other brothers. Dad kept telling mom that he wanted one of us. After much whining about not wanting a dog, mom finally caved in and said fine, "I want the brown one because the white ones look like they would be high maintenance." (Boy was she right about them, but since I was just a baby I couldn't tell her.)

Needless to say after few days of my charm and *adorable* looks, she couldn't deny her love for me! She is definitely an awesome momma, and I have one cool dad. Oh, I even have four human siblings. They are fun to run and play with too.

I am definitely a fun loving pup full of attitude! I look forward to giving you a peek into my "ruff" life.
